We aren't following Justin on purpose, but he is again at table two, and in the final round before the top 8 so we get to see him and Kitt duke it out, to stay atop of the sea of 5-1-0s. They both roll to see who goes first, Justin chooses to play. They draw their opening hands and Justin decides to mulligan, Kitt looks at his and decides to mulligan as well.

Kitt laughingly notes it is the first time he's mulliganed a 3 land 4 spell hand - ever. They shuffle hands into their decks. This time they keep their six card hands, Justin starts us off with a Vivid Marsh.

Kitt drops a Drowned Catacomb and passes. Justin lays an Island and passes. Kitt lays a Reflecting Pool and passes. Justin lays a Vivid Marsh and passes. Kitt lays a Pool and passes. Justin draws and passes. Kitt lays a Japanese Reflecting Pool and passes. Justin Esper Charms at the end of Kitt's turn to draw two cards.

Justin draws for his turn and discards a Cruel Ultimatum to pass the turn. Kitt draws and lays a Crumbling Necropolis then passes. Justin draws and discards an Angel and passes. Kitt draws, lays an Island and passes. Justin again draws and misses the land, he discards a Broken Ambitions and passes. Kitt draws, drops a Swamp and an Anathemancer.

Justin takes two and Kitt passes the turn. Justin draws, misses his fourth or fifth land drop and discards a Volcanic Fallout passing the turn.

Kitt draws, drops a Cascading Bluffs and swings with the Anathemancer. He passes the turn. Justin draws and finally drops a pool but passes the turn. Kitt draws, swings with the 'Mancer, taking Justin to 14 and then lays an Island before casting Mulldrifter. Justin counters and draws with a Cryptic Command.

Justin then untaps and draws for his turn, this time debating which land to lay, deciding on Sunken Ruins. He passes the turn and end of turn Kitt Mannequins which Justin Broken Ambitions. They clash revealing a Fallout and a Vivid Crag, Justin decides to hide it as does Kitt. Kitt untaps and draws, swings with the mancer taking Justin to 12. Passing the turn. Justin untaps and draws. Kitt has 3 cards in hand as Justin drops a Sunken Ruins and passes the turn.

Kitt untaps, drops a Bluffs, swings with the Mancer taking Justin to 10. He mulls over the situation before passing the turn.

Justin draws, lays his Exotic Orchard and taps five mana for a Baneslayer Angel which resolves. He passes the turn. Kitt untaps and draws, casting Cruel Ultimatum which Justin Negates that Kitt Cryptic Commands to counter and draw.

Kitt's Ultimatum kills the Angel, returns Mulldrifter and puts Justin to 5 and Kitt to 25. The Anathemancer puts Justin at 3.

Justin untaps and draws, laying another Angel. After passing the turn Kitt untaps draws and reveals a Lightning Bolt, winning game 1.

Game 2 - Kitt is up 1-0

Both players go to their sideboards and after switching a few cards out start shuffling. Justin decides to play, and after they each randomize their opponents decks sufficiently the game begins. They draw their opening seven cards with Justin declaring that he'll keep as Kitt keeps as well.

Justin starts with his trademark Vivid Marsh. Kitt with a Crumbling Necropolis. Then Justin with a second Marsh. Kitt with a Pool. Justin with an Island and then Kitt with a Sunken Ruins and a Mulldrifter evoked. Justin casts Esper Charm to draw two while Kitt discards a second Mulldrifter taking his hand to 7.

Justin lays a Sunken Ruins and looks over his hand, before laying Runed Halo naming Anathemancer. Kitt lays a second Necropolis and passes. Justin draws and evokes his own Mulldrifter that Kitt Soul Manipulation pulling his Mulldrifter into his hand from the graveyard. Justin passes the turn and Kitt untaps and draws. He flips the cards in his hand and discards another Mulldrifter. He Makeshift Mannequins which Justin Broken Ambitions, they clash revealing Shriekmaw and a Mystic Gate. Justin keeps the Gate while Kitt buries the Shriekmaw.

Justin passes to Kitt, end of Justin's turn he Mannequins again. Negated by Justin. Kitt draws his card tapping three to evoke a third Mulldrifter and draw two cards. Kitt lays an Island and passes the turn. Justin Esper Charms at the end of Kitt's turn to draw two cards.

Justin untaps for his turn and draws his card. He lays a Vivid Marsh and passes the turn. Kitt draws, lays a Sunken Ruins and passes the turn.

Justin untaps draws, and passes the turn. Kitt untaps draws and passes the turn. Justin draws and lays a Cascade Bluffs and passes. Kitt draws and Bolts Justin taking him to 17.

Passing to Justin, who draws mulls over his choices. Kitt attempts to Cryptic Command bouncing Runed Halo and drawing a card, but Justin Cryptics in response, which Kitt Negates and Justin Negates his Negate.

Kitt untaps and draws, laying a Cascade Bluffs he looks over his hand. Justin is nearly tapped out, so Kitt takes the opportunity to Cruel Ultimatum forcing Justin to take five and discard three cards: Baneslayer, Doomblade and Fallout. Kitt draws his three, returning a Mulldrifter to his hand.

He is tapped out for the Ultimatum, and must discard down to seven, dropping the Mulldrifter and Necropolis in the graveyard. On Justin's turn he lays down Identity Crisis, Exiling all of Kitt's hand and graveyard. Kitt draws and passes. Justin draws and Esper Charms to force Kitt to discard. Followed by a Cruel Ultimatum of his own. Life is now 17 to 20 in Kitt's favor.

Justin returns Baneslayer from his graveyard to his hand, and passes to Kitt. Kitt draws and passes. Justin untaps, tapping five for Baneslayer. Kitt tried to Ultimatum but Justin Negates it. Justin swings on his turn for five with the Angel, moving life totals to 22 to 15 in Justin's favor. Justin passes. Kitt draws and passes. Justin untaps, draws and swings, life is 27 to 10 in Justin's favor. Justin tries to lay a second Runed halo but Kitt Cryptics to counter and draw.

Justin casts a third Runed Halo this one hits naming Cruel Ultimatum. Justin taps another four for a Cryptic Command on Kitt's Vendillion Clique, to counter and draw. On Justin's turn he swings then Ultimatums, which Kitt tries to Broken Ambitions but Justin has the Cryptic.

Game two ends in Justin's favor, tying up the match in under thirty minutes.

They are both returning to their sideboards between game two and three, making a few more adjustments to their decks trying to pull out the crucial third win in this match.

Game 3 - Match is 1-1

Kitt decides to play in the third game. A crowd has begun to gather around the top tables, three of the top four tables are still playing while most the rest of the round has finished up. Kitt is the first to offer up his deck to his opponent, Justin soon follows and they both riffle and cut their opponent's decks. At which point they both realized they could draw. They will both see how their tie breakers ride them into the top 8. Good luck to them both!
