I have promised for a few weeks now an interview with a tournament player who has taken to trading to fund his hobby, and I am happy to finally provide just that. Raymond Perez, Jr. has been a friend of mine for a number of years, and I have watched and aided him personally through the transition. This week, I threw my usual formatting out the window since, unlike most of my interviews, I had the opportunity to do this one face-to-face. I don’t plan on making this a regular segment for this series, but if you guys like the interview, let me know, and I will see if I can get a few more guests through Skype to share their wisdom. I believe this interview provided great insight into the world of both competitive Magic and where it has gone as well as what it takes to be a player, incorporating community and financial information.
I want to thank Ray again for joining me this week, and I hope everyone enjoyed where the conversation led. If you have any questions for Raymond, you can find him on Twitter at @TiltedLife or leave a comment below, and I will be sure he sees them. Thank you as always for reading—or in this case, listening—to this week’s financial column. If you enjoyed the interview, check out Brainstorm Brewery here on GatheringMagic.com every week on Fridays as we podcast about the latest financial news and bring on guests to mix things up and pick our brains.
