Today it was announced that the 2011 US Nationals tournament will take place at GenCon Indianapolis. Wizards of the Coast will provide all qualified competitors with a four-day pass to the convention. GenCon plays host to the Vintage and Legacy world championships every year, it is not definite but Wizards expects that they will still take place at GenCon this year.

Here is text from an email from Wizards of the Coast:

On April 16, 2011, “National Qualifier – Regional” tournaments will be held in 17 cities in the United States and 4 cities in Canada. Each of these tournaments will offer 8 invitations to their respective country’s National Championship. These tournaments will be run by Professional Tournament Organizers.

On April 23 & 24, 2011 and April 30 & May 1, 2011, select WPN Advanced-level stores in the United States and Canada will run “National Qualifier – WPN” tournaments. Each of these tournaments will offer 1 invitation to their respective country’s National Championship. Approximately 165 stores in the United States and approximately 45 stores in Canada will run National Qualifier tournaments.

The 2011 U.S. National Championship will take place August 5-7, 2011 in Indianapolis, Indiana at Gen Con© Indy. Each player qualified to play in the 2011 U.S. National Championship (except those qualifying though “Last Chance Qualifiers” or “Grinders” on site at Gen Con) will receive a 4-day pass to Gen Con© Indy.
