Leave a Legacy
From the mind of Rob Daviau comes Seafall, the Legacy game that lets players forge their own destiny as captains on the open sea. At the end of every game, players will make permanent changes to the board and various game pieces that will affect the way each game is played going forward. Not only that, but there are special locked chests players will open once specific milestones have been achieved. These chests will move the story along and add a multitude of new components to the game, changing the way it plays even more!
Is it worthwhile to gain permanent enmity with an island port by raiding it for short term gains now, or will that decision haunt you as trading with that port becomes more expensive in all future games.
What strategy will you employ, and which advisor will you keep with you from game to game as you develop your long-term strategy?
The choices are many and far-reaching, so choose carefully!
Hire Advisors and Employ Guilds
Players will forge their own path through the uncharted waters of Seafall by hiring their own cabinet of advisors and employing one of four different guilds on their turn.
Pick your Advisors
Each advisor will push players toward specific strategies, so players should build up a cabinet of six advisors that complement each other and push your game-plan forward. When a game has ended, each player will be allowed to retain one advisor for the next game, making permanent changes to them.
Engage the Merchants Guild
Buy and sell goods to raise capital for your expeditions.
Employ the Builders Guild
Upgrade or repair your ships, and build structures that give you special powers for the rest of the game, or until they're raided.
Enlist the Soldiers Guild
Raid previously visited islands, or burn built structures in the other provinces to the ground. Plunder and pillage as you see fit, but watch out for hoe much enmity your generate.
Explore with the Explorers Guild
Brave parts unknown as you explore new sites on the Explorer's Map and delve deeper into the Captain's Booke.
