Top Ten #2 from Duskmourn Commander

Hello awesome folks! I hope your day is going super mega well!!! As you can see from the title, this is my second and final look at the Top Ten New Cards from Duskmourn Commander. Last week was my first 12, which you can find here (https://www.coolstuffinc.com/a/abesargent-10252024-top-ten-cards-from-duskmourn-commander). This is my list of cards great for Commander, sure, and multiplayer and Highlander stuff too, but also Five Color, Peasant, Pauper and even Type Four too. All kitchen table casual play. Honorable Mention #1. (#13. Overall) - Seance Board

This two-drop artifact colorless identity is the 13th card! Spooky! It's also a call out to Ouija Board. You'll trigger this EOT if something died, and that's every turn, not just yours, and toss a counter here. Then you can tap it to add mana equal to the counters here of one color, but they can only be spent on instants/sorceries, Demons or Spirits. Nice add there in decks heavy on the two creature types or the spells it works for.

Honorable Mention #2. (#12 Overall)- Zimone's Hypothesis

This mono-Blue instant is our middle scoring Honorable Mention, with the ability to toss a +1/+1 counter on any dork, yours or another's, and it's not required. Then you bounce all even or odd power stuff. By tossing the counter on a foe you can bounce them like their Commander. You should reliably bounce half of your foe's stuff great tempo, but if you build around it with even or odd stuff, this won't hurt you at all, just like making sure all of your gold dorks are White in deck with Mass Calcify will leave some stuff but all of yours. I really like this in decks where you are building with 2 power since you are running Meekstone. Like...say...Bear Beats or Hate Bears. You can just put the counter on your random 1/1 Esper Sentinel in that case. Love it and it doesn't bounce anything not dorks, and just half, so it's not even as nasty as Cyclonic Rift or Evacuation, and shouldn't draw as much ire.

Honorable Mention #3. (#11. Overall) - Gleeful Arsonist

Check out this three-drop undersized Red 1/2 with undying to survive one death, but not more without more manipulation. When your foes cast those precious nondorks they'll eat damage equal to its power, so that works with undying nicely. Get all sorts of power boosts here from Skullclamp to Rancor to Anthem but not +1/+1 counters prior to death since that'll stop it from happening.

Enough pretext and Honorable Mentions, now my final Top Ten begins from the deep set. This mono-White sorcery eight cost will recur all dead artifacts and enchantments from your graveyard to the battlefield for just you! If you draw it, you can spend half of that mana to miracle it all up and down the block! I think you'll like this mass recursion spell much, even without deck manipulation, as this often costs a lot of mana for just you to recur like seven mana but a rough quad White Brillant Restoration! Remember miracle is an alternate cost, so this would be a free spell in Type Four with infinite mana but one spell per turn.

#9. Formless Genesis

This three-cost sorcery rare in Green is changeling and kindred. The token it makes is too, so you can toss it in loads of kindred decks in Green but light in support decks, and the size is equal to your graveyard land count, which will grow with the retrace over time as you cast and keep casting this!

#8. Star Athlete

This three-mana dork costs three and has a 3/2 body and evasion in menace and an attack trigger. That will end one opposing nonland unless they eat five damage, kind of like the best for them. Thats why it's here on my second list, but it's got blitz and an on curve body with evasion, so that's why it's here, you aren't losing anything by running it in Aggro. I suspect it'll play better than you think. Disagree? Prove me wrong!!!

#7. Simic Colored Manifeest Dread and Bonus Good Stuff

Next are the three above stuff! The five-drop rare enchanment will manifest dread twice on arrival to the battlefield, and then will draw when they enter, those or others...nasty! The Green one is a creature on curve six-drop 6/6 with reach, and then colorless stuff arrives with +2 size in the form of +1/+1 countrers, and then will manifest dread when ETB and swinging like Grave Titan. The three-drop mono-Blue dork is a smaller 2/3 and an ETB ability to manifest dread and then return it to your hand if you don't control a face down thing, for later casting. Then this will draw you that precious card when your colorless stufff smashes face, but just once, like a limited Coastal Piracy. Get and run this trio in your manifest dread and morph/disguise decks!!!

#6. Arvinox, the Mind Flayer...er...Flail

Arvinox, the Mind Flail

This seven-mana enchantment dork that's legendary for Command Zone purposes and a 9/9 on curve body is next. It's not a dork unless you control at least three things you don't own! Then this has an EOT trigger to exile the bottom card of your foe's library and then you can cast those if they are permanents and use your mana to cast them so in your mono-Black deck with him as the Commander you can cast that Eternal Witness or Consecrated Sphinx. It's way too nasty for me, but a first turn play in Type Four with that unlimited mana. But you can just cast one permanent per turn and then not your stuff if you do so.

#5. Ursine Monstrosity

Top Five time! With a three-drop mono-Green evasive (trample) on-curve 3/3! It has a pre-combat trigger to mill one, attack randomly, gain indestructible and a size boost with your graveyard card type number, and that's a win-con, and mill and indestructible trampling 3/3 drop machine to love!!! Love it loads!!!

#4. Phenomenon Investigators

This four-drop Dimir 3/4 rare is next! You can choose one of two options, and here you can make a free 2/2 Black Horror that's also an enchantment when a nontoken you control dies, and not once per turn, or in your end step self-bounce a nonland to draw a card. The former is great in decks with deaths like Aristocrats or Sacrifice stuff, as well as Enchantments since that's also made, or Tokens. The latter is amazing in Midrange to reuse ETB triggers like Mulldrifter, Solemn Simulacrum and Ravenous Chupacabra in these colors, or with my self-bouncing Equinaut with Equilibrium and Azorius Aethermage to recast this as an engine on dork form.

#3. Metamorphosis Fanatic

Another miracling (all made up words are copyright Abe) spell is this dork is this creature six-drop normally 4/4 lifelink with miracle two. Then when it ETbs, you get a free Zombify with your dork improved with a lifelink counter on it. Love it loads, and unlike five-drop Karmic Guide, this has no echo, has a bigger size and what you get is better with lifelink, so it's worth the one more mana normally, even without miracle!

#2. Kianne, Corrupted Memory

She is a flash enabler for non-critters if her power is even, and for creatures if odd. When you draw that card, you can put a +1/+1 counter here, and then your flash stuff changes, and she's a bigger Commander Damage win-con in the red zone too. Love her loads, ideally 30 dorks and 30 nondorks and 40 lands too to spread out her flashing capabilities, and maybe pull some lands for modal spell ones like Bala Ged Recovery // Bala Ged Sanctuary.

#1. Aminatou, Veil Piercer

Aminatou, Veil Piercer

This 3/4 Esper colored four-drop is my final card in final list of the 7 deep Top Tens from Duskmourn or it's adjacent Commander set and I still couldn't fit in rooms and had to do another article just for those. This one is a legendary creature for your Commandering (Abe's copyright pending) needs. In your upkeep you'll get deck selection with surveil 2. Then your enchantments in your hand have miracle for free with cost four generic mana fewer. And combined with her surveilling filtering to ensure that miracling, she's pretty strong from where I am sitting!!! Also, there's a lot of synergy since her deckmate Commander deck The Master of Keys was last week's #1.
