Hello happy folks! I hope your day is going super mega well! Today I wanted a bit of a sequel to my ultimate Five Color Pinger Commander deck, this time a 5C in morphs. Morphs and disguise are great since you can always drop one on the third turn no matter your colors and then drop later once handled.
Who are we building around?
Azlask! This three-drop colorless 2/2 will give us an experience counter when our colorless stuff dies like him or my morphs prior to flipping. Then you can spend one of each mana to give our stuff size boosts equal to the counters count. If you have Eldrazi Spawns or Scions they'll get some abilities of the indestructible and annihilator variety. Nasty!
Mana, Ramp, Lands
Let's start with morph and disguise dorks all two-drop mono-Green dorks. The Bear size common and cost has disguise one and will flip up for a basic land to our hand like a Lay of the Land. The 2/1 rare mana dork taps for three colors of mana and then when it unmorphs for two mana makes three! The disguise 5 uncommon will morph up and ramp two Forests one to the battlefield tapped. Note that can get duals. It's size is equal to our Forest count, and it's obvious I'll toss in Yavimaya that turns all lands to Forests. I'll toss in all Triomes and some Forest duals as well as Nature's Lore and such.
Yedora, Grave Gardener will turn dying non-tokens into face down Forests. Since we already have the dying trigger on my leader, it made sense here too. It's a bit of ramp and a bit of protection built-in too! Then you can flip it with three abilities later, although not morph and such. Overgrown Zealot is a good blocker that taps for mana of any color and then two for flipping up our stuff. It's great here!
Now let's turn to enchantments in Green to ramp and care about face down stuff too! Threats Around Every Corner will manifest dread on arrival and when they arrive, Rampant Growth a basic land tapped. Trail of Mystery will turn arrivals of face down stuff to basic lands in your hand. Nasty stuff!
Now let's turn to fun lands! The disguise three uncommon taps for colorless and makes two mana when revealed, and then I also tossed in Zoetic Cavern too, obviously. The colorless tapping uncommon land can tap with two to gain a life for each colorless dork you control, which morphs are. Then the rare land ETBs tapped, taps for colorless, and then taps with nothing to give a colorless dork that just entered a +1/+1 counter! Love it on morphs or your Commander too.
Now let's turn to lands that'll help me cast/flip up all of my stuff or activate my Commander. The World Tree ETBs tapped, and then all of my lands tap for all colors as long as you have at least six. Then the indestructible land Cascading Cataracts can be tapped with five to make five of any color is next, nice!
Let's finish with the sac pair of High Market and Phyrexian Tower. Neither cost mana to tap and sac, and both ETB untapped. The colorless identity one can gain a life and the Black identity one will make two of that mana! I wish there was a land that tapped for a sac and then drew you a card, like Vampiric Rites. These are here to trigger our leader or Yedora. You can do it if something is about to be exiled.
Fun Morph Stuff
Now let's turn to fun morph and morph-matters stuff we are built around!!! The Red 6/6 morph six flyer has firebreathing, cannot be countered, trample and two protections in Blue and White. Strong removal options and the cannot be countered and pro Blue is nasty. The Blue one from the same block but one set earlier morphs for two and then it can copy any dork you control, as well as when it arrives then in your upkeep you can flip this down to get another copy, nasty good here!
The four-drop disguise Experiment Twelve can get perma-grown with +1/+1 counters when it or another dork I control is flipped up, equal to their power! Fast win con there! Mastery of the Unseen is a two-drop enchantment and when your stuff is turned face up? Gain a life for each critter you control and then you can spend four mana here at instant speed to manifest your top card in your library.
Another Selesnya colored duo with a White enchantment and Green dork! The four-drop enchantment gives a flying counter when it arrives on all face down stuff, and then when they arrive they'll also get it, then in your upkeep you can cloak your top library's card. The six mana
6/6 dork with reach is next! Your colorless dorks? They'll ETB with two +1/+1 counters. Then when this ETBs and swings like a Titan you'll manifest dread! Love that loads!
Synergies and Win-Cons
We'll often need ways to flip stuff we don't have the mana for, enter this trio. The three-mana Green 3/3 mythic will attack and manifest dread, and then you can spend two mana to flip up a face down dork. The legendary Simic colored four-drop can landfall and manifest dread the first time and then flip something over the 2nd or later times this turn. The mono-Blue legendary five-drop 3/4 gives all face down stuff a size boost like an Anthem or Lord, and then you can spend three mana to flip them up.
Pyrotechnic Performer will shoot each foe for damage of the unmorphed stuff's power. That's nasty as the longer the game the goes the more they'll take! Then with my many morph stuff, it's a great non-red zone win con. The Green morph Root Elemental will drop a free dork to the battlefield from your hand!
Now let's finish with colorless cards! The four-drop artifact Panoptic Projektor will tap and then let your next face-down thing be free. Then you can get double triggers from flip ups. Kozilek, the Broken Reality has a cast trigger to manifest twice, draw two cards, and then maybe help a friend for two manifests and draw two more, and then your colorless stuff gets +3/+2. Nasty here! Ugin, the Ineffable costs six, has a smaller 4 loyalty, your colorless stuff costs two fewer, that's why it's here, and then you can +1 to exile your top card, make a 2/2 colorless Spirit and then when it dies, you can draw what you exiled. His -3 can Vindicate a permanent with colors, like an opposing Commander. All three abilities work here, love this slate loads.
Answers
Now let's turn to answers, and we'll start with ways to mess with stuff! The Red disguise two 4/2 will redirect any number of spells and abilities to other stuff. You can wield much havoc with that, I also tossed in Willbender. The White artifact creature has a nice 1/10 blocking body and then disguise three, and then you can give your stuff hexproof when revealed and then also untap them for a surprise block to from a tapped team. The Aura in Black has morph, and you can sac a dork to reveal - pretty good with your death triggers. Then you can give the newly Aura'd dork indestructible to save it and deathtouch to trade up too.
Now let's turn to counters. The flying two megamorph 2/1 Stratus Dancer can flip to counter an instant or sorcery like card draw or removal. The six-cost morph Kheru Spellsnatcher can counter anything and then you'll cast it for free, like Spelljack. Nasty!
Let's finish with removal, targeted and mass. I tossed in the disguise White one with two to flip on a 3/2 body to exile a nonland permanent and if it was your foe's they'll get a nice 2/2 dork. It'll come back if yours. Then I tossed in things like Hidden Dragonslayer and Nantuko Vigilante.
Then I wanted two mass removal spells, enter the Black and Blue ones above. The Black one morphs with X and double Black to give everything -X/-X in size, which you can play around with to save your team, sweep everything, and get past indestructible stuff too. The Blue one with a 5/6 flying body with morph seven will bounce all other tapped dorks when flipped up do it when people are attacking you en masse!
Card Draw
The enchantment five-drop They Came from the Pipes will double manifest dread on arrival and then when those face down dorks arrive, you can draw a card! The legendary dork Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer will make your first face down dork free, and then when one ETBs, draw that card too! Note no brakes here like once/turn.
Now let's turn to this trio in non-Red! The Black mono-colored 4/4 four-drop will make my other dorks Assassins, and then my face down stuff has evasion in menace and then when they are flipped I draw that card and lose a life too. The enchantment in Simic colors two-drop will pump their butts by +1 and then when they are turned face up, draw too! The White two-drop enchainment with disguise one will give it and others that flip up scry 1 and then draw, but only once per turn.
The four-drop Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods gives my other stuff haste and then when they deal damage draw that card, and then when they die? Bring it back face down and then flip it up if a permanent. The flashing four-drop 4/3 Blue enchantment creature Enduring Curiosity turns all combat damage to cards drawn, and it can be brought back once if killed. I also tossed in Hystrodon and Bident of Thassa. The Black morph Grim Haruspex will draw when your nontokens die! Since we have a few ways of making that work here that seems good synergy here.
