Team Grand Prix are always special events. There is nothing like competing alongside friends, except maybe winning with those same friends. Grand Prix São Paulo showcased the very best side of Magic. At stake was not only the trophy but valuable points in the race for Grand Prix Master and a slot at Worlds. By virtue of his Top 4 finish, Brian Braun-Duin (along with teammates Pascal Maynard and Shaheen Soorani) has moved into the lead for the slot edging our Tomoharu Saito (whose team finished in fifth place).
But Braun-Duin and company could not seal the deal. That privilege belonged to former World Champion Carlos Romao and teammates Franciso Barciella and Eloi Pattaro. Romao often comes out to defend his home turf and São Paulo was no different.
