The big question going into Grand Prix Minneapolis this weekend was if any deck could top Ramunap Red? The deck had taken dominated the Top 8 of Pro Tour Hour of Devastation and Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa used the strategy to claim his second Pro Tour title.
But if Red was the story of Kyoto, Black was the story of Minneapolis. Seven of the Top 8 decks featured Black with only a lone Ramunap Red deck making the elimination rounds. At the end of the day it was Steve Locke, who went undefeated in the Swiss with only two draws to mar his record, taking home the trophy with Mono-Black Zombies - a call back to Pro Tour Amonkhet.
