Over 1,100 players came to play Standard at Grand Prix Providence but only one could come away a winner. At the start of Day Two the specter of Grand Prix Kuala Lumpur and the dominance of White-Blue Flash loomed large. Would the tale be repeated in Rhode Island?
No deck occupied 75% of the Top 8 but Black-Green Delirium did occupy four of the spots in the capable hands of 2015 World Champion Seth Manfield and three others. Two players, including Pro Tour Venice Champion Osyp Lebedowicz, brought Red-White Vehicles to the table. Rounding out the Top 8 was a single copy of Black-Red Madness Zombies and White-Blue Flash.
Seth Manfield was on his way to claiming another Grand Prix trophy and fought his way to the finals only to meet Wang Yichen in a mirror match. The former World Champion had a deck better suited for the long game and although the games did take their time, it was Wang Yichen and his version featuring Sylvan Advocate that took home the hardware.
(Marc) A special congrats to #GPPVD champion Wang Yichen!

He's a class act, a gracious winner, and just a good guy.
