I feel like I'm starting to run out of brew juice for Ravnica Allegiance. I honestly cannot wait for War of the Spark to be legal. I am ready to start brewing with all these new planeswalkers and especially Bolas's Citadel, that card looks like loads of fun! Alas, War of the Spark still is not legal. So, today I have a Bant Control deck to showcase. When playing Bant we usually see some number of Nexus of Fate but we run zero copies of that card in this list. Let's have look!

It's very much a control deck with a whopping ten spells that counter spells main deck. This deck does play Wilderness Reclamation, but it is not to combo. It is here more so to act as a catalyst for the deck and empower your plays. Things like Azcanta, the Sunken Ruin get better, and you get to untap after you tap out for Hydroid Krasis. There are times when I have Hydroid Krasis but I don't full tap out and opt to draw one card less so I can still hold up Absorb. That's still fine late game. Drawing 2-3 cards and having a 4/4 flying trample Krasis is more than okay. You're a control deck so you don't need to be a 10/10 (though they can get that big late in the game.) The Sideboard has typical Sidebaord things but also Devious Cover-Up for those long attrition games where you'll need to re-buy your win conditions/answers. Isolate may seem a bit odd but it's only for Mono-Blue. Hitting things like Curious Obsession, Pteramander, Siren Stormtamer, and Mist-Cloaked Herald. Since the deck runs seven three-mana counterspells it can be important to be able to Isolate and counterspell on turn four (turn three if you've cast a Growth Spiral on turn two.)
Control mirrors usually come down to who has more lands and can cast multiple spells in one turn, Growth Spiral can really help with that and is a big draw to this style of deck. That's it for me today.
As always, thanks for reading,
