Let's face it, Magic ain't cheap! It can be tough to get into Constructed or certain formats because of the cost barrier to entry, but what if I told you that you could compete and have a blast in Standard with a deck that costs less than a single copy of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse?

While this deck weighs in at around a slim $40-$50 for all the cards here on CoolStuffInc.com (less with promo code JIM5!), as well as a comical sub-$10 on Magic Online, it packs the punch of a heavyweight.
Quirion Beastcaller is an underrated threat that mixes a growth ability with some insurance against removal, all in a very cheap two-drop frame, while Ulvenwald Oddity // Ulvenwald Behemoth compares favorably to past Standard greats like Questing Beast, providing a big body, hasty attacker, and mana sink all in one. And then topping it all off is the huge hitter in Defiler of Vigor, which can make for some crazy turns by pumping the entire team.
What's also cool is the slight artifact theme here that powers up the excellent 1-drop Teething Wurmlet. Cards like Simian Simulacrum and Rootwire Amalgam are both already pretty solid, but it's the artifact token makers like Briarbridge Tracker and Jewel Thief that really bring things up to critical mass. Teething Wurmlet can't grow more than once a turn anyway, making this a great number of artifacts to get that key one-drop in the deck.
If you're looking to beat down for cheap, this is a great way to do it!
