There was a time when Sphinx's Revelation was the ultimate endgame in Standard.
The first one would buy you the time and resources to get into the late game, where you'd get to watch your opponent visibly slump into their chair when you cast one with X = 7. Wouldn't it be nice to feel that again?
Sure would!

It's easy to forget that both Divide By Zero and Alrund's Epiphany were banned in Standard, but they were!
While all three of Sphinx's Revelation, Divide By Zero, and Alrund's Epiphany were huge players in Standard but feel a little expensive for Explorer/Pioneer, the glue here is the wonderful Mindsplice Apparatus. Once you've got a Mindsplice Apparatus in play for a few turns you're given full range to go wild with these spells, with Divide By Zero really standing out as a great defensive spell that also is a phenomenal mana sink.
This deck definitely needs some tuning as there's a lot of moving parts, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mindsplice Apparatus do some wild things once the kinks are worked out!
