Wizards of the Coast has been firmly in the "no three-mana land destruction no matter what" camp for over a decade, but that wasn't always the case. While Pioneer and Standard would never see such a thing, Modern is quite a different story. Not only do we have Molten Rain and Pillage, but we also have this underutilized gem in Boom.
You thought three-mana land destruction was bad, how about two-mana land destruction? When combined with Flagstones of Trokair or Cascading Cataracts, Boom gives us exactly that. Graft this onto an engine full of one-mana interaction, solid removal, and some big planeswalkers to mop up and we've got an exciting Modern deck!

That went pretty well! Death's Shadow seems like a very difficult matchup, but everything else went rather smoothly.
The planeswalker package was excellent, with Nahiri being everything we could ever want in a win condition and both Chandras and Ajani also pulling their weight. I was especially impressed with Chandra, Acolyte of Flame and her ability to pump up planeswalkers or flash back critical land destruction or removal. Mana Tithe, Flame Slash, and the Talismans also performed very well.
If you like destroying lands, miss playing Nahiri, and enjoy making people not like you very much, Boros Land Destruction may be the deck for you!
