Modern is a beautiful format for many reasons, but one of which is how it's not outlandish to see a competitive decklist with 40 lands and eight 15-drops. Let me introduce you to Calibrated Blast!
Reminiscent of Draco-Explosion for all my Extended boomers out there, Calibrated Blast is a very silly power-crept version of Erratic Explosion, allowing you to build your deck in a manner where it will often deal 15 damage in one shot. Most opponents will happily do the remaining 5 damage to themselves with their lands, but if they don't, we've got a plan for that too!

This decklist came from Magic Online, where a number of different players all with slightly different lists have gone 5-0 in leagues or done well in Modern Challenges. I amalgamated the lists together and came up with this.
The deck's primary plan is simple - cast Calibrated Blast every turn if you can until your opponent is dead. Between the flashback cost as well as Throes of Chaos, this isn't too difficult to do. With eight cards that cost 15, two that cost 14, and four more that cost 12, you've got a very good chance to do a huge chunk of damage with each blast.
If your opponent hasn't already done the remaining damage to themself with their lands, you've got some chip shot damage available in your own lands to help finish the job.
Plan B is to cast Scion of Draco on turn two off of a Triome and a dual land that you fetch up with your various fetchlands. Scion of Draco is immune to Lightning Bolt, Prismatic Ending, Fatal Push, and March of Otherworldly Light, and only needs to get in one attack to set up a usually lethal blast. You've also got a ton of utility among your many lands to help slow your opponent down and deal with interaction.
Is this deck crazy? Absolutely, but it's also a very competitive deck in Modern. With a number of 5-0s and results in weekend events, this isn't just a meme!
