With Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord and Amalia Benavides Aguirre both now removed for the format, Pioneer has a lot of exploring to do.
Izzet Phoenix has been left intact, but turn three Vein Ripper or Amalia combo kills were both extremely taxing things to have in a format. If you had a brew or deck that couldn't handle one or the other, it wasn't really playable with both decks being such important parts of the metagame.
Now, with both decks gone, we get to see how far this format has to go!

Magic Online player J_tekt took first place in last weekend's Pioneer Challenge event with this deck, going an impressive 9-1 over the course of the event.
While we've seen five color ramp style decks in Pioneer before, this one has a definite landfall theme, with not only Omnath, Locus of Creation but also Nissa, Resurgent Animist and the OG Lotus Cobra. All of these landfall effects combine with the New Capenna sacrifice lands and Fabled Passage to form quite the mana production package.
But where things get really crazy is once you mix in Lumra, Bellow of the Woods with Port of Karfell and Spelunking. Each card is individually fine on its own, with Port of Karfell forming a nice loop with Lumra, but with Spelunking and a landfall creature in the mix, you're now able to keep looping the Port of Karfell over and over again while making mana along the way.
With a big game plan and a potential combo finish, this deck looked mighty impressive!
