The Biggest Winners for Innistrad Remastered Reprints

Reddit

I absolutely love Masters and reprint sets that lower the prices of expensive cards, making them more accessible. Innistrad Remastered revisits all the sets from the plane of Innistrad. With some of these sets being powerful, like Avacyn Restored, strong cards are becoming available at reduced prices. Today, we'll look at eleven big wins for Magic players with high-priced reprints.

1) Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Avacyn is an absolute staple in the Commander format. Not only is she a premier character from the plane of Innistrad, but she also makes all permanents you control indestructible. Some decks simply won't have an answer for Avacyn during a game. This card is currently priced at $40.00, which is lower than it was not too long ago. Hopefully, at release, we'll see it drop even further.

2) Snapcaster Mage

Snapcaster Mage

Though "Snappy" is better known for 60-card formats, its ability to give an instant or sorcery in your graveyard flashback upon entering can be quite useful in decks that can capitalize on it. The card's peak price in recent years was $29. With the new reprint, we're now seeing prices at $17.99. It's worth noting that the art by Volkan Baga, based on world champion Tiago Chan, is featured in this set. This artwork hasn't been used in a reprint for quite some time.

3) The Meathook Massacre

The Meathook Massacre

Outside of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, this might be one of the strongest Black cards to come out of a Standard-legal set in recent years. Having a board wipe that doubles as an aristocrats outlet has proven incredibly strong. Since September 2024, we've seen prices for this card reach as high as $58.50 for a basic copy. Currently, it's priced at $49.99 and could drop further. The Meathook Massacre was in dire need of a reprint, as its only prior printings were in Midnight Hunt and the related Double Feature set.

4) Necroduality

Necroduality

Speaking of cards with only one prior printing, Necroduality from Crimson Vow is next on our list. This card has proven to be an absolute staple for any Zombie deck that includes Blue. In November 2024, its price reached a high of $13.30. Now, it's sitting at $12.99, and it's likely to fall further once the set officially releases.

5) Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord

Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord

Similar to Snapcaster Mage, this card has been a powerhouse in 60-card formats. Sorin is a great addition to a Vampire deck, but its $41 price tag made it harder to justify. Currently, prices are as low as $27.99 on CoolStuffInc. If it drops further, I could see it becoming very popular for Commander or even Oathbreaker.

6) Craterhoof Behemoth

Craterhoof Behemoth

Craterhoof Behemoth is the ultimate finisher in Green. This iconic beast first debuted in Avacyn Restored and has seen multiple reprints, including a Secret Lair. The most recent high for this card was $38.80 in October 2024. Now, it's sitting at $31.99, though I suspect it will rise again. This is one of those cards that could be reprinted annually and still not satisfy the demand.

7) Captivating Vampire

Captivating Vampire

Another Vampire staple, this lord has quietly climbed to an impressive $20 price tag due to its ability to buff your Vampires and steal opposing creatures. The reprint has brought a 20% decrease to $15.99. Since it was due for a reprint, I expect the price to fall a bit further. If you're building a Vampire deck, this card is a must-have.

8) Emrakul, the Promised End

Emrakul, the Promised End

$49.99 is a steep price for an Eldrazi finisher, but it makes sense. This card hadn't seen a reprint since its release in Eldritch Moon, aside from a limited Secret Lair reprint. This reprint was much needed for the turn-stealing 13/13. Hopefully, enough copies will enter circulation to lower the price even further, at least temporarily.

9) Hermit Druid

Hermit Druid

This is perhaps the most interesting reprint in the set. Originally printed in Stronghold, Hermit Druid has only been reprinted on The List and as a Judge Promo. It's currently priced at $20.49. This card has been a staple in cEDH and continues to see play in graveyard decks that want to fill their graveyards quickly.

10) Gisela, the Broken Blade

Gisela, the Broken Blade

This is such a cool card. Gisela, the Broken Blade forms half of the Eldrazi Angel, Brisela, Voice of Nightmares, which completely shuts down spells with a mana value of 3 or less. Aside from the Angel Secret Lair precon, this card hadn't seen a reprint since Eldritch Moon. This scarcity led to a $29.99 price tag. Hopefully, the reprint will drive down its price.

11) Edgar Markov

Edgar Markov

This is definitely the biggest winner of the set for reprints. We hadn't seen a printing of this extremely powerful Vampire Commander since its debut in Commander 2017. At times, the card's price climbed north of $120. As of today, versions of this card are available on CoolStuffInc for as low as $49.99. This drastic drop in price will allow more players to try out this amazing Vampire tribal Commander.

And there you have it: the big winners for reprints in Innistrad Remastered. Remember, this set releases on January 24th and will be available at local game stores near you, as well as here at CoolStuffInc. Until next time, happy gaming!
