Decklist to Send Off Wilds of Eldraine Standard

Reddit

Hello everyone. The previews for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan look really great, and I'm getting excited for our next release. However, it's not here just yet, so it's great that our current Standard environment has loads of decks that are fun and exciting to play. This week, I have some two-colored Wilds of Eldraine Standard decks that you can use for fun against your friends, at a local tournament, or on Magic Arena. Let's get started.

Gruul Ruby Red

The first deck I have for you this week features Ruby, Daring Tracker. Let's take a look at the deck.

Ruby, Daring Tracker

Ruby, Daring Tracker is a pretty impressive 2-drop. She is both a good attacker as well as a potential extra mana, enabling you to cast bigger spells than your opponent. On turn two, you can cast her, then follow up by casting Phoenix Chick. Even better, use her to cast Kumano Faces Kakkazan // Etching of Kumano, and then cast Halana and Alena, Partners on the following turn. This will enable you to always benefit from Ruby attacking, and will make it difficult for your opponent to block your creatures effectively.

This deck also features a small legendary theme. Many of the creatures in this deck are legendary, which enables Hajar, Loyal Bodyguard to offer some much needed protection for them. By sacrificing Hajar, your legendary creatures will get a +1/+0 bonus for the turn, plus they will become indestructible. If you find yourself unblocked, you might be able to finish your opponent off with a well-timed sacrifice of Hajar.

Izzet Zero Creatures

Next, I have a deck for you that has no creatures in it. Let's check it out.

Faerie Slumber Party
Burn Down the House

While, technically, this deck doesn't have any creature spells in it, it does have a few ways of creating creatures. Both Faerie Slumber Party and Burn Down the House can create creature tokens that you can use to attack and defend with. There's also a playset of Restless Spire that can turn into creatures that have first strike. These can all help you protect your life total, but there's a combo in this deck that can help you finish off your opponent.

Urabrask's Forge will continue creating bigger and bigger creature tokens the longer it remains on the battlefield. The problem is that these creature tokens are easily chump blocked every turn. They do have trample, though, so you can eventually overpower your opponent, given enough time. If you happen to have a copy of Curse of Hospitality in play, you'll give trample to all of your creatures, plus you'll be able to play extra cards from your deck each turn with mana of any color, giving you a huge advantage over your opponent.

Orzhov Foxy Prototype Combos

The next deck I have for you has a plan for those times your opponent plays a board wipe. Let's take a look at the deck.

Werefox Bodyguard
Werefox Bodyguard acts as protection against spells your opponent casts that will destroy all of the creatures on the battlefield. Since it has flash, you can cast it in response to your opponent playing a board wipe spell such as Farewell, exiling one of your creatures as it resolves. Then when all creatures are destroyed, the creature you exiled will return to the battlefield, unscathed.

The best creatures to protect with Werefox Bodyguard are creatures with a prototype ability. You can cast either Phyrexian Fleshgorger or Steel Seraph for their prototype cost, getting them into play. Then exile them with Werefox Bodyguard. Next, you can sacrifice your own Werefox Bodyguard to return a creature with prototype to the battlefield. It will enter as if it were cast for its full mana value, giving you either a 5/4 or a 7/5 creature, which you can then use to smash your opponent.

Selesnya Enchantments

The final deck I have for you this week is able to draw a ton of cards and create a lot of mice. Let's take a look at it.

Yenna, Redtooth Regent
By utilizing a pair of cards in this deck, you'll be able to draw a bunch of cards each turn, giving you massive card advantage over your opponent. Both Elvish Archivist and Rite of Harmony allow you to draw extra cards whenever certain conditions are met. Elvish Archivist requires you to have one or more enchantments enter the battlefield, while Rite of Harmony is looking for creatures or enchantments.

By activating Yenna, Redtooth Regent's activated ability, you're able to duplicate enchantments you control. You can also duplicate nonlegendary enchantments whenever Calix, Guided by Fate or an enchanted creature you control deals combat damage to a player. With these effects, you'll be able to create Mouse creature token after Mouse creature token by creating copies of Three Blind Mice. With those Mouse tokens, you can quickly overwhelm your opponent, winning the game in the process.

Wrapping Up

While we're almost to the prerelease for The Lost Caverns of Ixalan, it's not quite here. Luckily, there are still so many fun, competitive decks that we can play until that time.

What do you think of these decks? Feel free to share this article with your friends anywhere on social media. And be sure to join me here again next week as I continue my search for innovative decks in Standard. I'll see you then!
