The first limited Grand Prix featuring Fate Reforged did not disappoint. In what now seems to be a tiny event, Grand Prix Mexico City had 626 competitors competing in sealed deck and 64 back on Day 2 for booster draft. The Top 8 did not disappoint featuring Pascal Maynard in his third consecutive Grand Prix Top 8, Martin J?za adding to his impressive resume, and Chapman Sim continuing to forge a reputation.
Maynard met with Flores in the finals in an Abzan mirrror, with Maynard's deck sporting Duneblast while Flores had Siege Rhino. The two played a close, three-game match, with Flores battling back through Duneblast in the second game. However, it was Pascal Maynard who emerged triumphant in the end, earning a Grand Prix title in his third consecutive Top 8.
Congratulations to Pascal Maynard, champion of Grand Prix Mexico City.
