Update [3/4/15]: More information for Magic Duels: Origins has been released. The game will be available in July on XBox One, PC via Steam, and iPads. It will be coming to Playstation 4 at a later date.
The game will feature the return of Two-Headed Giant and all content will be available in the free-to-play mode as content than can be earned through gameplay.
Magic Duels: Origins will also feature:
Improved Deck Builder with step-by-step deck construction guidance
First-ever playable Planeswalker cards
Solo Battle mode featuring virtually endless AI opponents
Expanded multiplayer options, including Two-Headed Giant mode
Quest system with new individual and community challenges every week
Limitless Free-to-Play with 100% earnable content
All-new Skill Quest tutorial system
A video teaser released today was the first official announcement of the next game in the Duels of the Planeswalkers series. The game will be free-to-play and have both solo and multiplayer options. Players will be able to add to their collection to increase the power of their deck.
Magic Duels: Origins appears to be continuing the tradition of tying Duels of the Planeswalkers to the Magic's summer release. As this also marks the start of a new era or storytelling, it will be interesting to watch how this platform intertwines with the original trading card game.
