In a Top 8 that featured Grand Prix stalwarts Lukas Blohon and Macio Carvalho, it was first time top 8 competitor Martin Dang that emerged victorious at Grand Prix Liverpool. Just under 1800 players tried their hand at Fate Reforged/Khans of Tarkir sealed in the former industrial hub.
Dang utilized a draft strategy far more suited for the Silumgar Brood of Dragons of Tarkir, settling into a potent blue-black deck with a light red splash. His adversary in the finals was Nicholas Labahn in his second elimination rounds appearance. Labahn's powerful Abzan deck, featuring limited all-stars Temur Sabertooth and Elite Scaleguard proved no match for Dang's Grixis special featuring Crater's Claws.
