Assassin's Creed Previews Leap Into Action

Excalibur, Sword of Eden
The Capitoline Triad
Templar Knight

Modern Horizons 3 may have just released, but there's no slowing down for the preview and release trains! This week saw the full preview of the upcoming Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed set with all kinds of new cards. Players were not only treated to tons of new cards for their Commander decks, but also some classics entering Modern for the first time such as Reconnaissance and Cover of Darkness. If you're a fan of the Assassin's Creed games and their lore, there's almost certain to be something awesome for you to find here!

The set hasn't been without its share of consternation, primarily as some discourse was stirred up in regards to the new Freerunning mechanic. Popular content creator SaffronOlive covered the mechanic, stating how he felt the fact that it specifically referenced commanders was an indicator of many of the design issues present with current designs for the Commander format. Specifically, how this could've been something unique to the assassin creature type in general and been something you had to work toward and build around, but instead it applies to everyone. This post generated lots of discussion among players, with many debating the merits of this argument.

You can check out all the cards right here on the official Card Image Gallery or check out the Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed page right here on CoolStuffInc.com!
