Attendance, Events, and Vendors
Visitors can enter the venue without having to purchase a Main Event participation ticket. This is important to note since, as of writing this article, the first event is currently sold out and the tournament organizer is currently collecting a waitlist in the event previous attendees decide to refund their ticket or the player cap is increased. However, there are side events, including a day-zero LCQ (Last Chance Qualifier) to participate in the Main Event finals. Lastly, there will be vendors in attendance, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
EDIT: The cap has been increased to 2048 players. Those who are waitlisted should keep an eye out in their inbox!
Main Event Format
Day 1
There will be 9 rounds of Swiss. Each of those rounds will consist of 2 games. This gives each player an opportunity to go first in each game. A die roll is still used to determine which player decides on which game they would like to go first. A player who wins a game earns 1 point. If a player wins both games of the match, they also earn a bonus point for the sweep. The top 32 players of the event will move to the top cut that proceeds to day 2.
Day 2
The top cut proceeds to play in best-of-3 rounds through single-elimination play until a final champion is determined.
Prizes
Players who compete in the Disney Lorcana Challenge events will have a chance to win a variety of exclusive prizes, including:

How to Register
Registration for the Disney Lorcana Challenge Main Event for Atlanta has unfortunately sold out for the time being. There is a waitlist, so you can place your name in hopes of additional slots opening up. Players can register here.
What to Expect for Atlanta
Given that this is the first Disney Lorcana Challenge event, the hype is real. The main event tickets did sell out in minutes, and I can only imagine what the waitlist looks like. This will be a great opportunity for players to compete against each other and show off their skills. The events will also be a great place to learn more about the game and meet other players.
Another point to mention is that the new set, Ursula's Return, will NOT be legal. There are pros and cons to this and that could be an entirely new discussion that you can find a bunch of discourse already.
Given that, the following sets will be legal:
- The First Chapter
- Rise of the Floodborn
- Into the Inklands
Conclusion
The Disney Lorcana Challenge events are a great way for players to get involved in the game and compete for exclusive prizes. Between the new set releasing as soon as May 17th in hobby game stores, the Lorcana Challenge in Atlanta, and more, Disney Lorcana is in a really good place right now.
Are you excited for Atlanta, or are you planning on visiting one of the other locations? What are your thoughts about the new alternate art cards for prizing?
