Hello happy domain fans and Commander players! Today I wanted to look at the Top 5 Domain Cards for Commander, which is an ability that scales up the more of a basic land type you have. I just built a Five Color Domain deck around Jenson, which you can find here.

Tribal Flames

Consider domain classic burn spell and finisher in 20 life formats Tribal Flames. Its damage will scale up to five for two humble mana, so if you want to speed that up, run tri and shock lands. That's what we'll be looking at today!

Honorable Mention #1. (#8 Overall) - Llanowar Greenwidow

Let's kick things off with this three mana 4/3 trampling Spider. It's also netting that reach too, although on a smaller toughness. Then once you can recur it from your graveyard to the battlefield for eight mana max, reduced by that domain basic land count. Free self-recursion is always strong!

Honorable Mention #2. (#7. Overall) - Briar Hydra

This six-drop on curve 6/6 trampler is next! It's got a combat damage trigger, easily done with trample, to toss domain size in counters here. Red zone win con that'll kill fast!

Honorable Mention #3. (#6 Overall) - Allied Strategies, AND Shadow Prophecy Shout Out to Voices from the Void

Next are the card drawing spells that care about domain. The Blue sorcery costs five, you draw your domain number. The Black common instant three cost digs your domain, and then draw two, the rest head to your graveyard, you lose two life. Shout out to the discard domain count for one target for Voices in Black.

#5. Leyline Binding

This six-mana max flashable enchantment that temporary answers any non-land problem is next! Its cost is reduced by your domain count, minimum one. Flashable Oblivion Rings are great answering anything that's dropped on your opponent's turn. Some might choose to leave their Commander there since they may not have Commander Tax hoping to destroy it. This thing has turned many tides as a pinpoint temporary answer, but not as much as the next cards...

#4. Drag to the Bottom AND Planar Despair

...like these! Next up is sorcery speed mass removal. The more domain you have, the better this sweeping pair will be by reducing the size. The recently printed one costs four, and then adds -1 to the swept size minuses. The five-cost older one will just sweep the domain count no bonuses. This gets around indestructible but lets you recur your stuff. Run things with higher toughness and you can keep your stuff. This duo plays nicely.

#3. Token Makers

Next are the three token makers equal to your domain count. The most iconic is Herd Migration for seven mana for a 3/3 Beast. You can also discard it to put a basic into your hand and gain life for two mana. The gold five-cost sorcery Ordered Migration makes 1/1 Birds. Spore Burst makes 1/1 Saprolings. Love this go wide trio loads!

#2. Scion of Draco Shout Out to Draco

The most powerful Modern-legal domain card for Commander is this made for Modern 12-drop 4/4 flying, minimum of two mana with full domain. Then your dorks get an ability for their color. White is vigilance, Blue is hexproof, Black is lifelink, Red is first strike and Green is trample. With a Commander with a few colors, that can give them loads. Shout out to the beater Draco Dragon 9/9 flyer that also has domain reduced cost and is minimum six and then upkeep but domain to nothing. What is higher though?

#1. Collective Restraint

This printed in the first set of domain is! It costs four, is an enchantment, and it's a Propaganda/Ghostly Prison for each attacker, but this time they've got to pay mana equal to your domain count...so any deck from three colors on up should run this. It's awesome possum! Get it and run it all up and down, and love it too!
