Oliver Oks Wins Grand Prix Brisbane

Reddit

A record breaking 966 players showed up at Grand Prix Brisbane to battle Modern but it was a familiar face raising the trophy at the end of the day. Oks has been a fixture on the Asia-Pacific scene and this weekend's trophy comes on the back of Lantern Control.

Oks did not have an easy trip through the Top 8. He had to defeat his admitted worst match up - Sean Hume with Black-Green Tron - in the Quarterfinals before facing Timothy Cheng on Living End. His finals opponent was Zen Takahashi on Dredge (who had just won a mirror over Lee Shi Tian). In a pivotal third game OKs cast Lost Legacy naming Ancient Grudge and Takahashi had to scoop up his cards.
