Today was the first mid-season Banned and Restricted List update. In the wake of Pro Tour Aether Revolt and the quickening pace of Standard development Wizards has decided to allow themselves the opportunity to ban cards twice in a given season. The March 13th update, however, saw zero cards banned. This despite the seeming dominance of Mardu Vehicle decks, Winding Constrictor decks, and Saheeli Rai-Felidar Guardian combo decks. Erik Lauer, in the announcement, said that they "concluded that the best move for all formats was to leave things as they are while continuing to monitor and gather data over the coming weeks and months."

The next Banned and Restricted list announcement will take place on April 24, 2017.
