Le Briand, Lelis are Thoroughly Modern Grand Prix Winners

Reddit

Modern is back on the Pro Tour schedule and this weekend saw two Grand Prix in the format in Birmingham and São Paulo. The Top 8s of each event helped to showcase the format's diversity.

The Top 8 in Birmingham featured eight different archetypes including current boogeyman Grixis Death's Shadow and crowd "favorite" Lantern Control. In the end, however, it was Loïc Le Briand with his Burn deck featuring Shrine of Infinite Rage who took down the whole tournament.

Over in Brazil the Top 8 featured seven different archetypes, including two copies of Grixis Shadow. It did not triumph in Brazil either as Joao Lelis took down the tournament in São Paulo with Bant Knightfall.
