Canada triumphs in Kyoto

Reddit

It has been several years since the last Team Limited Grand Prix in Japan, and the return of the format brought with it a number of super teams that defined the weekend in Kyoto. Teams with multiple Pro Tour mainstays like Martin Juza, Shuhei Nakamura, and Yuuya Watanabe or Shouta Yasooka, Katsuhiro Mori, and Tomoharu Saito littered the top of the standings throughout the weekend. Indeed, Yasooka, Mori, and Saito made the cut to Top Four and were poised to take the entire event. In the end though, the weekend was won not by a Japanese team, but by three foreigners. Three Canadians, Rich Hoaen, Alexander Hayne and Mike Hron made the trip to Kyoto on a whim and walked away Team Grand Prix champions.

Congratulations to Rich Hoean, Alexander Hayne, and Mike Hron, Champions of Grand Prix Kyoto.
