Mill decks in Modern have historically almost always been Dimir. From Glimpse the Unthinkable to Drown in the Loch, this has been accepted as the way the build Mill.
Well, what if I told you that the printing of Ruin Crab has allowed for a more focused, even more direct Mill deck that also has a sweet combo finish?

(As a note this deck was taken from @Dylan_MTG, but I've made some small adjustments.)
Rather than picking from how many copies of Fatal Push or Drown the Loch you want to play, what if we just skipped all that and killed our opponent? This deck has two main plans, both of which are interested in ignoring your opponent until they are dead.
Plan one is to just make as many crabs and as many land drops as possible. With a full eight crabs, in addition to four copies of Phantasmal Image, this is not a difficult thing to do and is extremely impressive against anyone not playing removal. The extra land effects from Explore and friends with fetchlands and Simic Growth Chamber will have you going in no time.
However, there's also a plan B. Maddening Cacophony is already a decent mill card, as is Fraying Sanity. But put them both together? You can use the extra mana and land drops we got from our Explores to kick Maddening Cacophony for only six mana, and if you do this with a Fraying Sanity in play that mills their entire deck!
This league did start out pretty rough playing against Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Dredge, but we finished with quite a bang. If you're looking for a fun and adventurous take on Mill with a big finish, look no further!
