Cauldron Familiar is banned in Standard.
It sounds almost silly to say if you forgot, but there's no doubt that the sacrifice engine based around Throne of Eldraine duo Cauldron Familiar and Witch's Oven, mixed with War of the Spark's Mayhem Devil, is one of the most powerful to be printed in a long time. Good enough to get banned in Standard, the duo is currently also the terror of the Historic format.
So, what if we took this devastating duo and moved it back even further in time into the Modern format?

This deck is everything I love about Magic.
When you've got Carrion Feeder in your deck and it's awesome, you know you've got something special on your hands. With the ability to be fairly aggressive with a super low mana curve, as well as have staying power with recursion and interactive elements that can shred other creature decks, Rakdos Sacrifice was quite impressive in Modern. A card like Smuggler's Copter is underplayed in general in the format and this deck makes great use of it, while Mayhem Devil ends up triggering off of all sorts of things you wouldn't expect. Add this to the basic power of Claim the Firstborn and Village Rites and we've got a really spicy one on our hands.
While pilot error cost us the perfect run right at the end, it was still a very impressive showing despite playing against a number of decks that seemed like they would have been bad matchups.
