Modern is a huge, powerful format. As such, it's not often that a new Standard set makes a huge impact. One card from a new Standard set making a splash in Modern is usually a big deal, but two is special, especially in the same deck!
Ledger Shredder has been making waves in pretty much every format it is legal in, providing a good body, great velocity, and an excellent way to get cards in the graveyard while also being a non-graveyard threat itself. Pair this up with Tainted Indulgence and you've got a very reliable way to get cards into your graveyard on two very reasonable cards.
What's a good card to put in the graveyard?
Just the biggest, baddest, non-legendary creature in the format!

This very interesting take on Reanimator in Modern, built by content creator SpiderSpaceMTG, melds together control elements with a combo finish.
The aforementioned Ledger Shredder and Tainted Indulgence are both cheap ways to fill up the graveyard, and SpiderSpaceMTG has paired that with a sort of pseudo-control shell.
Saying go on turn two to leave up Tainted Indulgence and Counterspell is awesome, and you can use Counterspell both offensively and defensively as it can defend your combo too. Throw in some more interactive elements like Fatal Push, Snapcaster Mage, and Thoughtseize, and you've got the ability to interact but also finish big. Normally Thoughtseize doesn't play well alongside counterspells in a more controlling deck, but because this deck is trying to put together a combo it makes a lot of sense.
Then once you've got your ducks in a row, get Archon of Cruelty onto the battlefield and the game will end in short order.
This deck is a very interesting take on Reanimator in Modern and is a good start, but does still feel like it's missing a little something. What that is will require more testing!
