I'm playing Standard today.
No wait, come back!
The time before rotation is always a tough one for Standard, as it comes to a point where the format feels "solved" and all the viable decks have been found already. This is especially true for this Standard format, as Throne of Eldraine is not only an extremely overpowered set, but has also been legal for about a decade now.
But today I've got perhaps the coolest deck in Standard for you, with a mana curve that would made Modern and Legacy decks jealous!

- 4 The Blackstaff of Waterdeep
Based around The Blackstaff of Waterdeep, this deck takes a page out of the Ensoul Artifact school of aggressive artifact-based Magic, a card that was once an absolutely powerhouse in Standard.
New cards like The Blackstaff of Waterdeep and the sneakily powerful Ingenious Smith join a surprising array of artifacts already in the format, just managing to hit the critical mass necessary to come together as a synergistic aggro deck. Incidentally good cards like Glass Casket and Portable Hole just happen to be artifacts, while Stonecoil Serpent is an individually good card that plays phenomenally with The Blackstaff of Waterdeep.
Furthermore, the deck gets to play Lurrus of the Dream-Den, one of the most powerful cards ever printed and not a luxury most Standard decks usually have. Lurrus can give you late game push if you run out of gas, while also forming the excellent tandem with Selfless Savior for a nice engine in the late game.
If you're looking to have some fun in Standard before rotation, this is the way to do it!
