When Modern Horizons 2 came out, there was a clear push in the set to try and revitalize Domain Zoo, a five color aggressive deck that wanted to have all five of the basic land types in play via fetch and dual lands.
Territorial Kavu and Scion of Draco were the obvious plants and immediately players were drawn to the idea of playing a Triome on turn one and the opposite dual land on turn two to cast Scion of Draco. These decks were all right but very clunky, often going up the curve and playing multiple taplands. Understandably they underperformed.
Well Magic Online user guiyote has learned from their mistakes and improved upon that formula and lowered the curve significantly, and was rewarded with a Top 8 finish in a recent Modern Challenge!

There's just no denying the power of the one-mana Red cards in Modern Horizons 2.
Both Ragavan and Dragon's Rage Channeler are just so good at what they do, and they join the once banned Wild Nacatl to form a terrifying trio of 1-drops. Throw in some meaty 2-drops in the aforementioned Territorial Kavu, Tarmogoyf, and Scourge of the Skyclaves, and you've got quite the creature suite. Rounding it off is the "too good not to play" companion in Lurrus, as well as another one of the best cards in Modern Horizons 2 in Prismatic Ending.
If you like to beat down while trying to figure out what lands to fetch, you'll feel right at home!
