Alrund's Epiphany this, Alrund's Epiphany that.
Yes, the seven-mana Blue sorcery is one of the best, if not the best, card in Standard right now. It's very powerful, sometimes hard to interact with, and frustrating to lose too.
But what if I told you that you could play a Blue deck in Standard without playing Alrund's Epiphany, and not only that but it was good?

Looking and playing more like a Modern deck with such a low mana curve, Zach Allen's Grixis Control deck is a Lier, Disciple of the Drowned deck through and through.
Lier, Smoldering Egg // Ashmouth Dragon, and Sedgemoor Witch all want you to play a ton of spells and that's exactly what this deck does. Rather than rely on a big expensive sorcery that everyone is super prepared for, this deck is happy to small ball its way through the game until Lier shows up and slams the door.
I ended up not running this deck at SCGCON last weekend, playing Mono-Green instead, where I'd lose my first round of day two to Kellen Pastor who was playing a very similar list. Kellen would go on to top eight, proving the deck has some serious legs.
Don't let everyone tell you this is an Alrund's Epiphany or nothing format!
