Infect is what I would describe as a "classic" Modern deck.
It was a very playable deck for a long time, but was also a major litmus test for any new brew you would make. With the ability to kill on turn two, your brews usually needed to have some sort of answer in the early game, lest they fall prey to the mighty Glistener Elf.
Of course, with Fury, Solitude, and Prismatic Ending completely overhauling the Modern format from Modern Horizons 2, Infect has fallen off the map. If only there was a solution...

Kyle Yamblo seemed to find the answer at SCGCON a few weeks ago, putting down the usual Breeding Pools and donning Overgrown Tombs instead in his Infect deck. The big reason?
Remember how we were just talking about Fury, Solitude, and Prismatic Ending? Phyrexian Crusader has protection from White and Red, making it quite the metagame call in Modern right now.
While we didn't see too much of the busted Boros Modern Horizons 2 removal spells in this set of matches, this outside the box take on Infect does seem to be like a worthwhile way to combat them if you love counting to ten!
