Magic Origins is on the horizon, but this weekend 1,200 mages gathered in Montreal, Canada to send off Dragons of Tarkir with a bang. This weekend marked the last Limited premier event for Khans of Tarkir block, and we saw the themes and dpeths of the sets showcased throughout. When the dust settled on the Swiss rounds, the top 8 featured Reid Duke, Jelger Wiegersma, and Mike Sigrist as headliners.
In the end, it was Sigrist who sliced his way through the competition, putting together an aggressive Red-White deck featuring both Outpost Siege and a splashed Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury. With an aggressive curve backed by dash creatures and a powerful top end, Sigrist's opponents each succumbed to his relentless assault.
Congratulations to Mike Sigrist, Champion of Grand Prix Montreal.
