Magic: The Gathering Netflix Series Officially Back On
It's happening! Netflix's MAGIC: THE GATHERING animated series is now in production from showrunner Terry Matalas in partnership with Hasbro Entertainment and Wizards of the Coast. #GeekedWeek pic.twitter.com/6502FcslqO

Following news last week as reported by Collider, Netflix Geeked announced firmly that the Magic: The Gathering animated series was still in the works after all! Announced to be now in production with Terry Matalas alongside Hasbro Entertainment and WotC, this series seems to be pivoting from the previous Gideon focus to instead lean on Chandra and Ajani. Very little has been revealed thus far, but it's a very pleasant surprise to see it back and still in the works.
New MTG Ambassador Class Announced for Duskmourn
During the Weekly MTG stream on this past Tuesday, Wizards announced the latest MTG Ambassador class for Duskmourn: House of Horror. This lineup includes dozens of beloved Magic content creators who love showcasing what the game has to offer. Further details on the MTG Ambassador program can be found here. Congratulations to this new class of creators!
Universes Beyond Marvel First Look Coming Soon
Over at Marvel.com, the website posted information regarding the company's plans for the upcoming New York Comic Con event happening in October. Among the announcements was one simple line stating "Magic: The Gathering will also have a panel with some surprise reveals for fans on Friday, October 18th!" This is almost certainly going to be a first look at what the upcoming Marvel releases that will be coming in 2025 will entail. For details on the initial Marvel crossover announcement, you can check out the announcement released earlier this year here.
Eventlink Update Brings Huge Updates for Stores
A new Eventlink update has brought hugely impactful changes for stores to utilize. Tournament organizers can now use manual pairings and late registration for players in Limited environments. Manual pairings were previously added for other events, so this comes as a welcome addition. Also added is the ability to provide a proper cut to playoff function that allows TOs to properly run the top cut of events as laid out in the MTR. Previously this could cause issues with various events, including competitive level RCQs. You can find all the details on these updates here.

Typically when a new set comes out, I like to highlight yoman5's excellent 50 New Decks write-ups he produces every season. These frequently produce some great early examples many players and creators use as a foundation for new decks early in the season. This time, though, yoman5 was inspired to put together a build of an all-new Storm deck he ran into during the Duskmourn: House of Horror Early Access event on MTG Arena. This list utilizes Enduring Vitality to provide plenty of mana as you cast several one and two mana spells to make an exponentially large number of Stormsplitter copies. Could this be a new Splinter Twin combo for Standard going forward? Give it a try for yourself when Duskmourn: House of Horror hits digital clients next week!
