Hello, Illumineers! Welcome back to another installment of our purchasing guide. We're back with tips and tricks on how to get the best value when purchasing Azurite Sea products or singles. With the full release as of November 25th, you have plenty of options when it comes to buying into the set. Whether you are a collector or competitive player, you'll have all the details you need here to make the right decision. All right, let's jump right in!
For New Players
Even though this is Disney Lorcana's sixth set, that doesn't mean you're too late to join the party. Azurite Sea released two starter decks, showcasing new characters and synergies in each one.
Amber & Ruby Starter Deck - A Seaworthy Crew
Starting off with Amber & Ruby, we're following through with a heavy pirate theme deck with synergies that focus on drawing pirate cards and bringing them back from the discard pile, constantly applying pressure to your opponent each turn. We're also leveraging a few locations for additional synergies with characters. If you're looking into a heavy thematic pirate deck with Winnie the Pooh and friends, this is a great choice.
Emerald & Sapphire Starter Deck - Genius Reinvented
Emerald & Sapphire this set are really setting an emphasis on Inventor characters. Both ink colors include a ton of new cards that really round out this synergy with not only cards from this set, but also ones from previous sets as well. Our showcase card, Gadget Hackwrench - Brilliant Bosun, makes it much easier to play additional Inventor characters by reducing their ink cost once you have enough items in play. I'm really intrigued by this starter deck and look forward to writing my upgrade guide once I've put a few reps in on it.
Lorcana Gateway
This product continues to blow my mind even after release, and I couldn't recommend it more now that the holidays are around the corner. Quite possibly one of the best ways to learn Lorcana and teach others how to play. It's instructions on how to include new cards once you've mastered the foundations is something other TCGs should take note of.
Azurite Sea Illumineer's Trove
The Illumineer's Trove this set includes card dividers, a lore counter, dice, and 8 booster packs of Azurite Sea. The trove itself can be used as storage for extras or playsets even. If anything, at least try to get one for the storage capabilities itself.
Azurite Sea Gift Set - Stitch
This gift set is a must have for not only new players, but collectors as well. In here, you'll find 4 booster packs, an exclusive Stitch themed folio, and a Stitch - Alien Buccaneer unique promo, unobtainable anywhere else. This is one of the more impressive gift sets this time around and just in time for the holidays as well!
For Collectors
Collectors looking to obtain the ever elusive enchanted cards this set can either hunt for them in booster packs or boxes, or you can also buy them outright.
Azurite Sea Booster Box
This booster box contains 24 packs of Azurite Sea boosters, with plenty of opportunities to hunt for your favorite foils or enchanted cards. This is a great way to fill out your collection when you're missing a lot of cards. Once you're satisfied, you could always switch to singles to get the rest of what you're missing.
For players
Singles
If you're looking to add just a few cards to your current deck, singles are the way to go. They are one of the lowest costs of entry right into staying competitive as soon as the set has been released. These continue to fluctuate as the meta evolves, so keep an eye on some of your favorites.
Conclusion
Very similar to other releases, Disney Lorcana continues to follow a tried and true model of their releases. With a perfect balance across all customer needs, it should be fairly straightforward on what to get.
