Hello happy folks I hope your day is going super well! Ever since the original set debuted with Wrath of God and Earthquake, Tranquility and Nevinyrral's Disk there has been a mass removal situation. In multiplayer mass removal is better since more people have stuff to swing at you so I often run a few sweepers in my Commander and other stuff too to ensure I can win! Let's take a looksee at colorless sweepers for any of your decks in Commander! Get that sweep on! This is a sequel to last week's multicolored (here - https://www.coolstuffinc.com/a/abesargent-03212025-the-top-ten-multicolored-sweepers-for-commander) and then my previous five sweepers in each color articles series.
#10. Steel Hellkite
This six-mana Dragon with flying and on curve 5/5 is first! It has an activated ability to inflate in power by two mana each! Then you can spend X mana to destroy all nonlands who you smashed of that cost. Just once though. So, that means you'll be safe, and then you'll only be hitting the good stuff of one foe, so others are not going to care and then just one cost of what you spent, so just a few things they have. It's limited, but for those reasons people often allow it to stick around. Not too shabby and reprinted in Standard now for our Tarkir: Dragonstorm too! Love it much in all of the places, but your milage may vary. Enjoy this fun guy!
#9. Powder Keg AND The Moment
This two-drop colorless rock pair ETB and then in your upkeep you can drop a counter here and then tap for no mana to sac and destroy everything with that cost. Then it can also tap to untap your stuff and then phase out until this leaves so you can save your stuff from removal or exiling and then sac this later to sweep and clear stuff out.
#8. Ratchet Bomb AND The Filigree Sylex
This pair is next, another two-drop put counters, but opposed to the first where you can just put them here in your upkeep and then tap to use them, this pair has to tap. The Bomb can be tapped and sacced to destroy all nonlands like The Moment above but not with mana or sorcery speed, so I rate it better. Then the Sylex can also tap to remove ten oil counters from all stuff and then Searing Wind one targets so it's great with the targeted or player removal too!
#7. Engineered Explosives
This X-cost artifact arrives with X counters with each color of mana spent and the sunburst and then sacs with two mana to drop that cost of nonlands stuff this time, so it doesn't build up like the previous one at all. It works immediately, hence it hits here.
#6. Blast Zone
Our final one before the Top Five proper this colorless tapping land ETBs untapped and with a charge counter and then can be tapped with XX to toss X counters here and then taps with three to sac and destroy all nonlands with the counters here. Love it since it's a land. You can just pull a land for this and there is less need for bigger stuff and it can grow fast, with an X tap too.
#5. Karn's Sylex
This three-drop ETB tapped mythic rare legendary artifact is next! Players (you too, sorry) cannot pay life to cast spells or to activate non-mana abilities. Then you can tap this with X mana and then exile, not sac it, to destroy all nonlands with X mana or less, so that's clearly a better range of targets with X or less and then you can do it then, you don't have to wait a few turns to build it up. As soon as it untaps, use it! However....sorcery speed...holds it back plus the exiling and no sac so it cannot be reused. Yay for this!
#4. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
This eight-mana planeswalker is our top and only one in today's countdown! It arrives with a massive seven loyalty and then +2s to shoot a target for three so that's player or board control. Then he can -X and exile all with that cost or less that has a color in it. So many things are exiled like Commanders and such, but not lands or most mana rocks so you aren't hurting them as much. It also exiles so you cannot bring them back and can be used as soon as it arrives, so this guy is a powerful sweeper of stuff. And targeted removal too, so toss him into your Commander and multiplayer stuff now!
#3. Nevinyrral's Disk
This four-drop ETB tapped and then taps with one mana to destroy all artifacts, enchantments and dorks. That's a big sweeper but note that's not planeswalkers. It also doesn't sac itself so if you can save it with instructible you can keep it. This thing ruled the early game as a colorless sweeper and enabled colors without dipping into white or in addition to it since you swept everything. The only issue is the one turn window you get to destroy it before it goes off. Love it much, you do too!
#2. Oblivion Stone
Ah yes, the O Stone! Dropping for three-mana is this fun artifact that taps for four to toss a fate counter on something to save it like your Commander or game winner or card drawer like Consecrated Sphinx or The One Ring. Then you can tap it for five mana and sac to destroy everything that doesn't have the right counter that's not a land. Sure, it can be a bit pricier compared to other stuff but you can activate it the turn it arrives to sweep everything! Love it much!
#1. All is Dust
Could anything else be here? I doubt it! This seven-mana sorcery colorless sweeps all stuff that's got colors like Ugin, and it sacs not exiles. Better for you since you can bring them back but it still works against all of the good stuff! Love it much here, and its kindred for Eldrazi in case that matter.
There we go! I hope that you enjoyed my final slate o' sweepers! I hope that you found some great stuff here for your next brew and enjoy it much!
