Aetherdrift Commanders Tier List

Hello happy Commander aficionados! What are the best new Commanders to snag from Aetherdrift? I have created my Tier List below for you folks to check out! Note this is not the ones from the Commander set that came from it since they were designed for this.

S Tier

Captain Howler, Sea Scourge
Loot, the Pathfinder
Mendicant Core, Guidelight
Redshift, Rocketeer Chief

Let's get started with these S Tier folks! The Izzet four-drop ward two life and mana has a discard trigger to give your dork +2 power and draw a card when it smashes face. Love him with cycling, looting, rummaging Wheels or more! The five-drop three color double strike and haste and vigilance is next with 2/4 size and the ability to tap, just once with exhaust, for a Dark Ritual, Ancestral Recall and Lightning Bolt. Nasty! The two-drop Azorius artifact X/3 has size equal to your artifact count, nasty win con for Commander damage and then start your engines and then max speed can turn casts of artifacts into copies for one more mana to really break it. The two-drop 2/3 Gruul with vigilance can tap after swinging to make mana equal to its power only for activating abilities then has a 12 mana once only exhaust to drop all permanents from your hand to the battlefield a Self-Eureka for just you and you can use that mana it taps for for (correct use of two "fors") it!

A Tier

The Speed Demon

Daretti costs five for an X powered leader with power equal to your biggest artifact, and when it ETBs and attacks you can Goblin Welder tap to grow it massively! The Rakdos four-drop 4/5 with start your engines is an ideal aggro leader since your dorks attacking each cause your foes to lose a life and then with max speed you can add to your damage one. Gonti is a four-cost 3/4 Black with when people cast each other's spells they get a free Treasure for more and then a combat damage trigger for your foes to exile their top card and play it a great political card for multiplayer. The three color Mimeoplasm with X will exile X stuff from your graveyard and then grow with +1/+1 counters and then at instant speed you can spend two to copy one with this's size though. Another Mono-Black five-drop Speed Demon is on curve with 5/5 size and two evasions in flying and trample then with start your engines and EOT you'll draw equal to your speed and lose that life too - great reliable immediate card draw!

B Tier

The Insect Lord costs six Golgari for a 3/3 body that makes them for each dork or artitfact in your 'yard and then when one dies you'll pump it with a counter and force a life from your foes. The Selesnya colored Human Knight four-drop 4/2 ETBs with either a Vee or Mount to your hand, great Tutor in the Command Zone and good power for mount/crew. Then when a +1/+1 counter is added to your dork/Vee add another! The Orzhov God with a three-cost on curve 4/4 body with the expected indesctruble and then lifelink and menace will draw when you exile a card on your turn from graveyards or the battlefield and can engage in battle once there are 7 cards in exile!

The Green Human Artificer has a four-drop 1/2 body stuff attacking your foes gets trample, even opposing stuff! Spend a mana and tap her to drop a Vee or dork to the battlefield and if the former pump it with two counters. Free stuff is free stuff!?!? The Simic five-drop God with 6/6 and reach and indestruble is weird since it cannot engage without an even number but she gets one every other turn and then odd? Draw two. The Human Warrior Cleric is a three color 4/5 six-drop with first strike, and haste to attack outta nowhere and first strike. Then your dorks get your speed in power pump and your non-dorks cost less equal to your speed too! The two-drop Homunculus with an 0/4 size start your engines no max hand size and then double card draw with max speed is last. It's better in the 99 since it's not in the color of aggro.

C Tier

Hazoret, Godseeker

The mono-Red two-drop has a 5/3, indestructible and then haste cannot engage until you have max speed and then taps with one to make a small dork unblockable like the Dwarven Warriors of the past! The two-drop Boros colored 2/3 gives all Vees and Mounts haste and then when they arrive they can attack as if Mounted or crewed. The four-drop mono-Blue 2/4 with an ETB to make a 3/2 flying vee with crew one and then your Vees fly and when a flyer smashes face, draw but just once per damage. The Simic colored two-drop with 2/3 size too can once with exhaust three and X to pump him with X counters and then the base size of your team is his power. Nasty go wide win con, but you'll need mana and the right board presence and just once to do so. The last Dimir colored two-drop 3/2 gives your rocks and has ward 2 life to protect them. Then once with exhaust you can tap him with four mana and then exile X of them from your 'yard to reduce all of the other non-artifact dorks size by how many you exile! Just once and then exiling drops it here.

D Tier

Basri, Tomorrow's Champion
Zahur, Glory's Past

This one-drop 2/1 on curve taps with a mana and exert once every other turn to make a 1/1 White Cat with lifelink and then you can cycle him to pump give his type hexproof and indestructible to save them, but not from your Command Zone. That's why he is here at the back half. I don't think exert is needed either. The two-drop Orzhov 3/2 start your engines a once per turn can sac a dork for a surveil one and then with max speed he can turn non-token deaths into a tapped 2/2 Zombie. Too many breaks to make him reliable. Since his sac is already once per turn why wait a bunch of turns before you can get 2/2 tapped stuff?

E Tier

Kalakscion, Hunger Tyrant
Sundial, Dawn Tyrant
Terrian, World Tyrant

The Black Croc costs three for a 7/2 that'll kill in three smashes. The two-drop 3/3 White dork is an artifact ahead of the curve. My favorite of this cycle is the five-mana 9/7 in Green with the ability to give a great defense too and three turn kill but harder to trade with.

F Tier

Caelorna, Coral Tyrant
Lagorin, Soul of Alacria
Tyrox, Saurid Tyrant

Let's finish with these three 2-drops in F tier! Two are in the vanilla gang. The 2-drop 0/8 blue creature can swing and is great in the 99 of a toughness matters list or just as an early blocker. Then the red creature is two mana for a 4/1, too low of a toughness for that cost. I'd rather the 3/3 one. Then the uncommon Selesnya option is two mana for a 1/1 with flying and Saddle 1 to toss a pair of +1/+1 counters on two Mounts or Vehicles like this and another. This feels like an uncommon two-color draft signaler.
