The changes to the Magic Online Cube included the addition of Power and other powerful mana acceleration, but also significant cuts to get the card pool down to 540 cards. This new cube also features Ravnica [card=Dimir Aqueduct]Bouncelands[/Card] and [card=Izzet Signet]Signets[/card] to try to balance the higher variance cards like Power.
These changes undermine the importance of green ramp and the effectiveness of some of the aggressive strategies. Artifacts that are both acceleration and fixing like Signets and Moxen allow the control decks to be to leverage their more powerful spells earlier and more consistently. Will this push the format towards three- and four-color midrange decks built on the power of Signets and Bouncelands? How will aggressive strategies adapt to the new environment? We'll find out on December 19!
