Announced during Day 2 of Pro Tour Theros, the invite list for next year's Magic World Championship has been updated with several changes:

• 2013 World Champion
• Player of the Year
• Rookie of the Year (NEW)
• Pro Tour Theros Winner
• Pro Tour Born of the Gods Winner
• Pro Tour Journey Into Nyx Winner
• Pro Tour Magic 2015 Winner
• Magic Online Champion
• National Champion from World Magic Cup winning team (NEW)
• Top two players per region according to ranking by Pro Points

  • Latin America
  • Europe
  • Japan
  • Asia-Pacific

• At-large invitations for remaining slots (by Pro Points)

This means being Rookie of the Year or the caption of a World Magic Cup winning team earns a very prestigious invitation. While this comes a little too late for 2013's Rookie of the Year Felipe Tapia Becerra, captain of the 2013 World Magic Cup winning team France Raphael Levy does benefit immediately.

There were a few other changes to the Pro Players Club:

• Winners of either a Pro Tour or World Championship are now automatically advanced to Platinum status for the remainder of the current season, as well as all of the following season.
• At the World Magic Cup Qualifiers, Gold level Pros will receive one bye and Platinum level Pros will receive two byes.

Supporting new winners longer than before and encouraging the game's best to content in World Magic Cup Qualifiers are meant to provide more stability at the top of the game, and create star-stacked teams to represent their countries.
