Today, Lee Sharpe announced how Aether Revolt will be coming to Magic Online. The plan, detailed here, is to remove the Prerelease events in favor of launching regular events immediately. Aether Revolt will also introduce single-game match Draft Leagues.

Coming on the heels of Wizards of the Coast President Chris Cocks' recent release regarding digital efforts and the announcement that Worth Wolpert no longer works at Wizards, this may signal the first steps into the new era of Magic on the Internet.

Aether Revolt comes to Magic Online on January 25, 2017.
