In an effort to better link the Pro Tour with Magic Online, the program is introducing the Pro Tour Gauntlet.
These fire-on-demand eight-person events will be live for one week after the upcoming Pro Tour. After the downtime on Wednesday, February 10th players will be able to join one of these events and be assigned a random top performing deck from Pro Tour Oath of the Gatewatch. Just as with Phantom Events these cards will not be added to a player's collection.
These events are intended to give an average player a chance to try out the very best decks from the Pro Tour, as recognized by Magic R&D. Gathering Magic's own Kenji Egashira will be making play videos with these decks which will be found on DailyMTG next week.

More information on these events can be found in the official announcement. Does the Pro Tour Gauntlet make you more likely to play Magic Online? Will this make Constructed more accessible on the platform? Is this also a window to the way the program will operate in the future with so called "Phantom Constructed"? The Pro Tour Gauntlet is definitely an experiment and one that could have significant implications for the future of Magic Online.
