Josh Utter-Leyton does it again. Two weeks after his victory at Grand Prix Vancouver the long time pro found himself at the 2016 Magic Online Championship. On the line was an invite to the 2017 Magic World Championship as well as a year of Platinum status and $25,000. Considering that Utter-Leyton's Grand Prix trophy netted him a Pro Tour invite the prize purse could ease some pressure in a year where many expect Josh to make the Hall of Fame.
Making it to the Top 4, the player known as Wrapter had a long road ahead of him. The Top 4 was best two out of three matches and Utter-Leyton had to take his Mardu Vehicles deck into the trenches against two different Saheeli Rai-Felidar Guardian Copy Cat decks. The finals saw him play against Pro Tour Eldritch Moon Champion Lukas Blohon. In a match that went the full nine games, Wrapter was able to assemble enough offense in the final game to deal exactly lethal damage. Another title and Wrapter edges ever closer to a Hall of Fame enshrinement.
Congratulations Josh Utter-Leyton, your 2016 Magic Online champion!
