It was almost a repeat of Grand Prix Barcelona. The Top 8 of Grand Prix New Jersey, the last major Standard tournament before the Banned and Restricted announcement on Monday March 13, featured four copies of Mardu Vehicles, three copys of Four-Color Copycat, and a lone holdout - Hall of Famer Ben Stark - on Jund Energy Aggro. Unlike Barcelona, where the two popular decks met in the finals, New Jersey saw Ben Friedman and Corey Baumeister face off in an all Cat affair. It took three games but in the end Baumeister emerged victorious.

With two Grand Prix titles in the same weekend and almost 50% of the combined Top 8s, one has to wonder if something will be done about Copycat come tomorrow. The same can be said about Mardu which beat Copycat by one list, marking 8 entries across the two sets of elimination rounds.
