Grand Prix Washington D.C. provided exactly what Magic fans have come to expect from Team Limited events: thousands of players (3,366) and extremely talented players battling in the elimination rounds. The final four on this weekend included former Team Limited Grand Prix Champions Owen Turtenwald/William Jensen/Reid Duke and Matt Nass/Jacob Wilson/Sam Pardee. The other two teams each had a member of the Grand Prix Beijing winning team with Justin Cohen and Matt Severa teaming up with Mike Hron while Tom Martell and Ian Spaulding joined forces with Rich Hoaen.
In the end it was former allies fighting for the right to add a second trophy to the mantle. It came down to the final match between two Pro Tour Champions in Martell and Hron. After the dust settled it was Hron who was able to add another Team Grand Prix trophy to his mantle.
