Nearly 1300 people came to Grand Prix Orlando with the hope of winning a trophy in Aether Revolt - Kaladesh Limited. By Sunday evening only eight players retained a shot at the title. These players included three who went undefeated on Sunday in Jorge Mantilla, Patrick Tierney, and Chris Pikula; two Pro Tour Champions in Joel Larsson and Alexander Hayne, three time Grand Prix Top 8 competitor Noah Walker, and newcomers Zile Yao and Jack Dobbin.

The story going into the Top 8 was Pikula and his quest to get back on the Pro Tour and into the Hall of Fame. He emerged victorious after three tense games against Dobbin only to fall to Larsson and the Swede's powerful Blue-Black deck. Larsson, of Team ChannelFireball Ice, would find himself in the finals against Noah Walker of Team Card Hoarder. Larsson took the first game against Walker's Blue-White deck but Walker clawed back to even the series. The third game saw Walker stumble on mana and Larsson added another trophy to his collection.
