Prost, Orange, and Jansen win Grand Prix San Antonio!

Reddit

Over 500 teams descended on San Antonio to play in the Team Unified Modern Grand Prix. In this format if any deck contained a non-Basic Land, no other deck could use copies of that card. The incredible diversity of Modern was put on full display this past weekend and at the end of Sunday there were some familiar decks and faces squaring off for the title.

The Top 4 saw teams of David Ochoa, Matt Severa, and Andrew Baeckstrom and Eli Kassis, Gerard Fabiano, and Ben Lundquist fell by the wayside. The finals pitted Gregory Orange, Adam Jansen, and Andrejs Prost against Owen Turtenwald, William "Huey" Jensen, and Reid Duke.

First, Adam Jansen took his match in three games against Jensen's EldraziTron with his trusty Jund deck. Turtenwald used his Grixis Control deck to win two games against Orange's White-Blue Control. It all rested on a Game 3 between Prost's Affinity and Duke's Abzan Death's Shadow. Duke led off with a fast Stony Silence but it was not enough as Prost's Master of Etherium and Etched Champion got Duke to a life total where Death's Shadow would be a 13/13.
