A week after Gerry Thompson won Pro Tour Amonkhet with Mono-Black Zombies the Grand Prix circuit traveled to Santiago and Montreal to see how Standard would take shape. That shape resembles Aetherworks Marvel quite a bit as all four decks across both finals were based around the card. The Top 8s from both events featured five archetypes each. Both tournaments saw Temur Marvel, Zombies, Mardu Vehicles, and Blue-Red Control; Montreal added Black-Green Constrictor to the list while Santiago gave us Red-Green Energy.

At the end of Sunday, however, it was Temur Aetherworks that won in the hands of Kevin Jones and Mauro Sasso. Even with the new ban list schedule it is a little premature to start talking about a change. After such a dominant weekened, however, the chatter is sure to be there.
