Grand Prix Pittsburgh is in the books! Finishing hours after Grand Prix Taipei, the Top 8 of Pittsburgh did two better than Taipei in regards to Dromoka's Command with 28 copies featured in the Steel City's elimination rounds.
And what a set of elimination rounds they proved to be. Pro Tour Champion Steve Rubin and Grand Prix Top 8 accumulator Pascal Maynard both were in contention for the trophy. Maynard, looking to clinch Platinum with a victory for his Bant Humans deck, managed to make it to the finals and took the first game. It was not to be as the Canadian fell to Evan Petre in his first Grand Prix Top 8 in three games.
Petre just qualified for his first Pro Tour on the back of the powerful Green-White Tokens strategy. The deck has come to define Shadows over Innistrad Standard and looks poised to continue winning once Eldritch Moon hits.
